Hi,
Looking for some advise on John above, I have he was born abt 1675 in Stratton, Cornwall. he married a Jane (??) (b 1680 d 1734 stratton). They had two son Moses b 1700 Stratton, d 1740 Teath and John b 1698 Stratton.
I am looking for any help on the parents of John born 1675 c and the maiden name of Jane. I have tried Cornwall parish registers on line, but no luck. Are there any people who can help me with info please?
Thanks,

looks like the Moses born 1700 died in 1702

and another son was baptised Moses later that year

Are you sure that Moses, son of John, is the one who died in St Teath in 1740? There is a Moses Martyn who married in Lanteglos in 1715, a neighbouring parish to Teath.

and had a son, George, baptised in St Teath the following year

Do you have a copy of his will from the Cornwall Record Office? Ref AP/M/2299 will of Moses Martyn, gentleman of St Teath, 1741. He appears in other records in the cornwall record office index including adding his son George to a lease and acting as a tax assessor in 1736.
St Teath & Stratton are not close. There was a John Martyn in St Teath & he left a will. There are also other Martyn wills in St Teath including one for George.

If you are researching the family of Moses who died in St Teath, his will should help. I doublt he was baptised in Stratton as he would have been 13 at the time of marriage. More likely to have been baptised in St Teath, just the baptism doesn't appear online.
