Hi Pam
The Archie you found may be the father of Archie born 1918

Are you sure they were in Motherwell as early as 1900? No sign of them in the 1911 Motherwell Directory (which was almost like a voters roll) unless they were living in lodgings then, but there is an A. Swarbrick at 104 Shields Road in the 1922 directory. Looking for Nelsons in Lanarkshire is a needle in a haystack job, there is only one Blades in the 1922 directory. William Blades, miner, 36 Thistle Street Motherwell.
I don't think Swarbrick is a local name, perhaps not even Scottish.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

the archibald born in 1918 was my father and Grace and Sarah will have been his sisters makes sense as ive previously posted just curious as to when and from where my grandparents arrived in motherwell area my grans maiden name was Hainey
Also some recollection about the Grace from Stevenston think she was my dads cousin .There was also 2 other cousins i know of John Swarbrick who was a teacher in Airdrie academy during the war i believe and a Jim Swarbrick i seem to recollect some mention of him being connected to the masonic lodge
Unfortunately the reason i dont have a lot of info to go on is my own father i.e Archibald Swarbrick born in 1918 died in 1976 only now im getting a bit older that im getting curious about my heritage .Myself i was born in 1964 in Irvine and stayed in Ayr also briefly in Troon till 2002 when seem to have taken Swarbricks in a we half circle i live in coatbridge and have a son Gary and daughter Lynsey my wifes name is Elizabeth maiden name Frizzell
