Please has anyone any information on Perton Court, Albrighton in the first half of the last century. Who lived there? My Grandfather was a cowman and later groom and gardener, living in Perton Cottages. His name was George Brindley

Hello
I can tell you that James Clifford Timmis was the likely owner or tenant of Perton Court Farm in 1924 and that three of his fields were affected by Foot & Mouth disease! Not terribly useful but all grist to the mill ;)
EDIT:
Richard Owen Taylor and Ann Maria Taylor were occupants of Perton Court in 1888 and 1891
Robert Wall Timmis, Farmer, was an occupant from at least 1911 until at least 1920.

Many thanks, Paul, all very interesting! I have a photo of my Grandfather hoeing a border at Perton Court in his later years. He died in Albrighton, aged 88, in 1938.
Thanks for your trouble, Spencer James.
