Hello there, I'm looking to fill in some gaps in my family history on my father's side.
My grandfather was William Deegan b. 1902 to James Deegan and Mary Anne Cullen while living at North Gloucester Place, Dublin. My grandfather had (at least) eight siblings as follows:
Dorothela/Dora/Dorothy b. 1895
Elizabeth b. 1896
Patrick b. 1899 & d. 1908
James b. 1900
Kathleen b. 1903
Michael d. 1904
Margaret b. 1906 d. 1907
John b. 1908 d. 1908.
I have 1901 census records for the family. My grandmother died in 1908 probably in childbirth after which I understand that the remaining sons were sent to Artane industrial school. However, I cannot find any trace of them in the 1911 census records at this establishment (although I have observed some gaps in the listings of 'boarders').
I cannot find any trace of the remaining girls in the 1911 census either and have evidence that at least two of them - Dora and Kathleen - lived past 1911.
My great-grandfather re-married in 1909 to Margaret/Maggie Fagan and they had (at least) two children - Eliza Deegan b. 1909 and James Deegan b. 1910. They lived in Abbey Cottages off Abbey Street, Dublin.
I believe my great-grandfather's mother was Dora Deegan (possibly nee Keating or Kearns/Cairns).
My grandfather William Deegan married Alice Holloway in 1922 and they lived in 113 Dorset Street and subsequently in Brennan's Cottages at the back of 117 Dorstet Street, Dublin.
Would be most interested to hear of anybody who has information on any of these descendants or who is interested in exploring possible links.

Do you think there may be something about the name at some stage? My family had a number of Rogers in the 1800s but by the early 1900s there wasn't one left.
