Title: APLIN/APELIN/APLYN - Hemyock, Devon
Post by: Captain2 on Friday 15 July 11 17:13 BST (UK)
I would be interested to hear from anyone who may be researching this family in Hemyock.  The name (and variants) appear in the registers from 1602 so a well-established family network exists for a number of years from what I have managed to find so far.   I would love to exchange and compare information/notes..  :)

Hi Captain2
I have Aplin ancestry several times in my tree including the ones from Hemyock.  Who are you descended from?  larpoll

Are they any connection to the Applin family of Bere Regis, Dorset  in more modern times?

My great-aunt married into this family in the 1920's and i have recently made contact with people researching the Dorset family

Hello Larpoll & Marmalady thank you for your response.  I am directly descended from Frideswick (Friday) Aplin b. June 1700 whose father was Robert Apelin b. 1670  (Hemyock) . I lose the Aplin line with Friday (1700) as she marrys into the Troake family - yet another interesting family line - so I am unsure whether any of her brothers eventually end up in the Bere Regis areas of Dorset.  Robert (father) married twice and there were at least 15 children.. so there is possiblity  ;)
