I wonder if I could have your help please?
I have a Jane Hempenstall who immigrated to Australia arriving into Sydney November 1853 on the ship "Maidstone". The passenger list nominates her native place as either Olaid or Ocaid ,County Wexford with her parents being George and Ellen.
Does anyone know of such a place as Olaid or Ocaid?
Appreciate your assistance.

Could it be Oylgate?

Thank you Cinders for your help, however late last night I found the correct townland which was lost in translation from an Irish speaking person with a no doubt strong accent to an Englishman who filled out the passengers list.
The townland is Oulart however written as Olaid. I also found Jane's father George with the correct spelling of his surname as Hepinstall.
Thanks for your help.
