Is is it possible to check parish records for births, baptisms?? Seems to be the only place left to check.
Thanks

Is this what you were asking about previously?

Thanks for your reply!!! Yes...same reference but since that time have found a bit more info. Burial record, marriage record. St. Anne's in Belfast is where my aunt Emily Tedford married William Rosbotham. She is buried in the Belfast City cemetary. I will check with the local LDS site here. Curiously though, are the church records available to be viewed on site?
I had missed your original reply, unfortunately.
Best,

Not sure how you could have missed my reply since you responded to it on the thread :-\
PRONI has microfilmed copies of many church records- see ANTRIM RESOURCES at top of this page or PRONI website.
If a person was buried in City Cemetery they may not appear listed in church records- usually Church of Ireland burial register lists date of burial, name and age of deceased, possibly an address.
Have you seen the Belfast Cemetery database here?

For the civil record: William Rosbotham’s marriage to Emily Tedford was registered in Belfast 1875, Volume 1, page 329. (It’s indexed under Telford on the LDS site, which is presumably a mistake).

Thanks for your reply...I have the marriage extract of William Rosbotham & Amelia Tedford. Marriage certificate no. 183 dated 29 Mar 1875, residing on Stanley St. Not sure why she is listed Amelia as I know her to be Emily..perhaps her birth name. Her second daughter was named Amelia. It lists her father as James Tedford....I am trying to find her mother's name.
Thanks Again!!

Sorry..don't post here much & confused how to get around this site. Have a difficult time finding my messages & replies. Yes, I have seen the burial records site & have requested a death certificate; realize now it probably won't list the deceased mother's name which is the info I am trying to get. That's why I was inquiring about church records - as I have the marriage certificate listing St. Anne's in the Parish of Belfast as the church. Thought perhaps those records would list mother's name. Family lived on Thames St., Elizabeth St., Nansen Road & Stanley St. which from what I can tell is around the same general area. Am trying to get Emily Tedford Rosbotham's mother's name. Her father's name was James Tedford. So many James Tedfords in the Belfast area. Thanks for all the assistance..greatly appreciated!!! :) Best,

Don't think burial register will list parents' names (unless perhaps in the case of an infant?).
Have you found a baptismal record for Emily yet?
P.S. Emily and Amelia are often used interchangeably.
-
I haven't found a baptismal record for Emily...was hoping the death certificate would have her date of birth so I had more info. Where would I look for a baptismal record? This info would be invaluable.
Appreciate your p.s. - didn't realize that at all..very interesting.
Thanks,
-
A baptismal record (if it exists) will be in the register of the church where the baptism took place.

Thanks for your great assistance :)
