Hello.
So, I've found this:
Marriage: 24 Sep 1827 St Chad, Rochdale, Lancashire, England
John Ogden - (X), Weaver of Todmorden
Grace Fielden - (X), Widow of Todmorden
Witness: D. Nield, Junr.; T. Fletcher
Married by Banns by: Ay. Wm. Eyre Curate
Register: Marriages 1827 from the Bishops Transcripts, Page 103, Entry 308
Source: LDS Film 1545795
How do I get to look at Page 103 and what is a LDS film?
I hoping that I can get parents' names from the Banns. What are my chances? :)
Thanks,
Mary

You need to go to your nearest Mormon church that has family research facilities, you can order the micro film that contains the images you wish to look at and view them there,
But the entry you have posted is the exact one you will see if you order the film, only it will be the original copy,of the Bishops transcript,
-
page 103 etc is the page number in the Bishops transcripts
LDS film no. is the film number from the LDS (Latter Day Saints or Mormons) that the transcriber has used to make the entry you see on the OPC website
If you contact the Lancashire Record Office they may have a copy of the Banns Register that you can request a copy of.
But the Banns rarely gave parents names - it will indicate their parish of residence at the time of the marriage, whether they are single, widowed etc and if you are lucky the groom's occupation

Hi MaryMother of Cheeses ;D
I have transcribed Banns records for Family search.org (LDS) & have never seen any parents names listed for Banns. Fathers are listed on Marriage certificates (after 1837).
So it's not looking good :(

My husband found 2 records, from the LDS on the Lancs OPC site and only one can be right.2,birth records of the same man, same date except one is in 1876 and the other in 1879.Parents the same. We think it's highly unlikely that the first one died and the a second born on the same day a few years later.Today we will see if we can find a death but we may have to wait till we can see the parish records .

Todmorden is very much on the Lancs/Yorks border. Until well into the 20th century, the border ran down the middle of the Town Hall.
Now officially in Yorkshire, the post gets there quicker if you put Lancashire on the envelope.
Heptonstall is an ancient parish about 5 miles away, up the hill just befre reaching Hebden Bridge.

Thanks Andrew...that explains a lot...so many Grace Sutcliffe born Heponstall, Yorkshire...2 stating Todmorden,Heponstall,Yorkshire....allan

Thank you all for your replies!
Yes, Todmorden is very confusing re the Lancs/ Yorks thing. And I found a record last night which seemed to suggest it was in the Parish of Halifax, where usually it's in Rochdale, just to add to the confusion...
I like the 1816 marriage - a possibility perhaps. One of Grace's grandchildren by her second marriage was christened Sutcliffe, so that would be very neat if that's right.
