Could someone please let me know where St. John's is? I am looking for Dalmond Farm, Goose Green, St. John's. I cannot find it in my maps and google earth isn't much help either. James Wright was farming there in the late 1800's. Thank you for anyone able to help.

Hi
There are a handful of Wrights in the census either side of the "vague date" you mentioned.
Can we help you with anything specific?
I found out a little fact whilst I was looking around.
Macmullens Brewery of Herts fame - a brewer called Macmullen lived in that area at that time.
Cheers!

Thank you for the replies, both very helpful. The family I am researching are;- James Wright, wife Mary Ann, children- Byron J born 1883, Margaret born 1883, Edith Mary born 1885, and Benjamin born 1887.
James and Mary Ann where born in Lincolnshire as were the family, and were farming in the 1881 and 1891 census's, at Dalmond Farm, Goose Green, St. John's.
Havn't been able to find the parents death's as yet. I know that James's siblings died at Ware!
Again thank you for the help so far, much appriciated.
Gail.

AH, sorry, the census's were the 1891 and 1901, NOT 1881 and 1891.
Sorry about the above error.

Hi
Using the current map and the census return, ticking off the current farms in the area of Dalmonds Wood ....... I reckon Highfield Farm (now) is favourite to be Dalmonds Farm (then).
Here's the googleview
