Hello,
I am searching for some information about my great great grandfather Thomas William Dixon who was born in 1850 in London. I am unsure how he came to be in Australia or when he arrived here. My great grandmother Annie Caroline Martha Dixon was born in Deniliquin in NSW. Thomas married Annie Elizabeth Sullivan of Heathcote in Mortlake Victoria.
I have his parents listed as Thomas DIXON and Sarah Ann SMITH. Any assistance in finding out deatils of his family in London or life there which led to him coming to Australia is appreciated. :)
Kind regards, Vanessa

When did Thomas marry?

Hello, Many thanks for the information - yes it looks like that is my Dixon family on the 1851 census! I only have marriage details for Thomas William and Annie Elizabeth Sullivan - April 1878 in Mortlake Victoria. I'm only guessing but it is a possibly the whole family emigrated at some point? I will have a look on Aus BDM records for any marriages and deaths of Thomas' siblings as well.
Kind regards,
Vanessa

Think the Thomas that Nanny Jan found is Thomas Frederick Wood DIXON who married Sarah LEE at St Mary Newington on 20 Feb 1844. Their daughter Clara Wood DIXON was born 24 Jan 1845 and baptised at St George the Martyr, Southwark on 16 Feb 1845. He was a shoemaker/cordwainer.
