Hi
I certainly can't, but perhaps can anyone find a marriage between a Mr Hardy and a Ms Hogbert, probably in London but maybe anywhere else before 1921?
Nothing on Free BMD and the closest one of Ancestey is a marriaged to Hogberg but in 1938.
Any assistance?
Thank you. :)

Hi
The Albert E HARDY/OlgaV HOGBERG marriage 1938 NW Surrey, is on FreeBMD.
I'd say this is a somewhat unique combination of names, and HOGBERT is a mis-spelling (deliberate or not) of HOGBERG. If you are looking for a marriage before 1921 perhaps because you know they were together and/or having children then - perhaps the explanation is they were not free to marry until 1938. One possible reason being, that one of them had a living legal spouse?

Hi Ambly
Yes, I have found a birth registration for 1921 but I think your idea is a very good one. They were in that area of Surrey and Olga seems the right age. 53 would seem old to get married, but if she was already together with Albert before it would make more sense.
Thank you for clearing that up.

If you have a look there's another registration in 1918 with mmn "Hogberg". The 1918 birth is registered under both surnames suggesting the certificate contains both parents names but they are not listed as married on that certificate.
The 1938 marriage would be very interesting - should show if either was divorced/widowed. There is a possible divorce for a Albert Edward Hardy in 1936 (his wife divorced him and remarried in 1937; they seem to be from Yorkshire), but the name is fairly common so hard to say.
Possibly this is Olga's father; he could have been away at sea in 1901:

Thank you Jorose
Yes, I think I'll have to get that certificate if just for the interest. It certainly is intriguing especially with the birth of the other child.
That link is great, I was wondering what had happened to him as he was away in 1901 and I think I've found a remarriage for Julia Augusta Hogberg to a Smith in 1920.

After reading all this I thought I could find this family in Sweden. They lived in Gothenburg.
Olsson Högberg, Wilhelm b. 1858 - Father
Dahlöf, Julia Augusta b. 1861 - Mother
Klementina Serafia b. 1882
Olga Victoria b. 1884

All the names form the documents found in this thread fit perfectly.

Hi
I don't know how much you know or if you are interested with the Swedish side but I found this information written beside (I think, Julius William) in the Parish Book in Gothenburg dated 1887-1898. I have read these books for a while now and this type of information is quite unique......
Transaltion:
According to the death notice from The Royal Swedish General Consul in London dated 23 Dec 1942 of a death dated 5 Aug 1941 at Poplar Hospital, East India Dock Road, London of head injuries from an accident. Noted as a dock worker. Last known address "Grenville", Morgan Crescent, Thoyden Bois, Essex. Received 26 March 1943.
