I am trying to locate any family related to Robert Miller/Millar. I believe Robert Miller/ar was born in February in the 1920's and passed away in the 1960's. I have very little information about him and have no idea where to start.
Many thanks
Tricia

You could start here - http://www.ancestryireland.com/quis_advanced.php - a Robert Miller b. 1920, father's name Robert - to see more details it costs £4,
but it will give you his parents' full names and address.

Thanks for your reply. I did try to edit my post as I have since found out Robert Miller was born on 19/02/1911, his father's name was James, I believe. Robert passed away in 1965 :( I was hoping one day to find him.

Possibly this is the family in 1911 census-

That is quite possible them. I believe that James Miller was married twice, James second wife was named Elizabeth Jane Arthurs McClean, Elizabeth was Roberts mother.

James Millar married 1910 Co.Down to Elizabeth Jane Arthurs ___.
Looks like James Milar, wife Mary and baby daughter Martha in 1901 census-

Ok, so James Miller married Mary, his 1st wife, they had a baby named Martha. He then re-married in 1910, to Elizabeth and in 1911, they had a son Robert. Thank you for your reply aghadowey and the link.

There was also a son James from the 1st marriage- age 7 in 1911 census.

As I continue my search, I was sent this information:
In the Tyrone Courier edition for 14th January 1965 "SUDDEN DEATH OF MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE INSPECTOR " The sudden death on Monday of Mr Robert miller of 50 Hillcrest Pk Moygashel,a senior inspector in the egg and poultry division of the ministry of agriculture, came as a profound shock to numerous friends in the dungannon district and many other parts of the province. He was giving evidence for a prosecution by the ministry at Omagh Petty sessions when he collapsed and died in the witness box. A doctor who was called to the court unsuccessfully applied artificial respiration. He was 56, the son of Mr and Mrs William Gordon Miller of Ormonde Park Finaghy. In his early life he worked in the linen business and then for the ministry of Agriculture. He had lived in Dungannon for many years. He was a devout Presbyterian and a member of the church committee of Dungannon Presbyterian Church. His chief interest was youth work and he had been connected with the boys brigade all his life. He was an officer with the 13th and 38th Belfast companies and when he came to Dungannon he helped form the 1st Dungannon Company of which he was Lieutenant. He is survived by his wife Irene, brother Eric and sisters Misses Jean and Agnes Miller.
This has confused me a little as I believe Robert Miller's father's name was James. I have searched the internet for information on The Boys Brigade, hopeing that I may come across more information, i.e. a photo or something.
