Title: DAVISON family went to USA and back
Post by: kattysoo on Thursday 23 June 11 11:52 BST (UK)
Can anyone advise me please where to find passenger lists from County Durham to Pennysylvania USA in the 1880s
Helping a friend research his family tree we've come across his gt gran ANN DAVISON (maiden name unknown)who was born Bishop Auckland 1862.
In 1891 she is in Bishop Auckland work house listed as married with her children:
George   b County Durham   1882
Ann         b Pennysylvania     1886 British subject
Sarah      b. Pennysylvania   1888 British subject
Charlotte b.County Durham  1890 (my friend's gran)
It seems the family must have gone to the USA after  the birth of George  and returned before the birth of Charlotte.
I haven't been able to find her husband anywhere.
Any help gratefully accepted.
Ruth

Hi Ruth:

I don't see her arrival to the states.

I cannot view further details, but I wonder if this could be her?
Canadian passenger list for
Ann J Davidson, born 1862.  Year of arrival: 1882.  She apparently sailed from Liverpool and the port of arrival was Quebec.

Hopefully, someone has access to the list to see if it might be her.

Thanks Lisa but I don't think it's the same Ann as she didn't have a second name beginning with J
