Title: Noble McMillin b. 1830 Lisnaskea - Modified

Greetings all

I am helping a friend with her family history and I am looking for information on a Noble McMillin b. circa 1830 at Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh.  The only information I have regarding his birth is from his obituary of 1917 in New Zealand.   Noble left Ireland in 1851 for the gold fields of Melbourne, Australia and in 1861 headed for the goldfields of Otago NZ.  He married in NZ 1873, however his marriage certificate wouldn't give any information on place of birth or parents names because that wasn't required until the marriage act of 1881.  Am waiting for my friend to order a printout of the death certificate.   If anyone could help, or point me in the right direction to search, I would be very grateful.

I think you meant the date of death to be 1917(?) not 1817 but do you have any idea of when he went to New Zealand/left Ireland? did he marry in New Zealand? if so. does marriage certificate list parents' names? does his death certificate give that information?

Lots of questions but the more details we have the easier it is to help you.
