I am trying to find another Wootten - Truman connection.
Why? - because of two things:
One Fanny Hobbs - born 1878 (whose mother was Mary Ann Wootten - born 1843) adopted Edwin Truman - born 1895.
Two because Patience Truman (born 1816) is living in the same house as William Wootten (born 1833) in one census.
These connection interest me, so I go off at a tangent and more things to explore.
I have found that Patience Hart married Moredecan Truman in 1839.
I found this on a free website (wiltshire bmd) - but cannot find confirmation of this marriage on Findmypast.
So another question. Does this mean that Findmypast is incomplete?

Hi
I looked for this marriage on a different site
Patience Hart came up Sept 1839, p8 Vol 429. Devizes
? Truman came up Sept 1839, p8 Vol 427. Devizes
I looked at the actual entry and it looked like the name was rubbed out. I think it's them, though, site was www.freebmd.org.uk

Hello Claire
If the name was rubbed out that may account for the mis-spelling that I have found elsewhere....
Mordecan instead of Mordecai has been suggested.

Patience HART'S Parents were Charles HART and Sarah JENNINGS who married 26 December 1814, Bromham, Wiltshire
Patience was Christened 07 January 1816, Rowde, Wiltshire to Charles/Sarah..
Patience and William Wootton are on the 1881/1891 Census together.
So no connection there that I can see.
I was hoping Patiences Mother was a Wooton.
Trish :)

Thanks Trish
I was hoping for a similar connection. It is just a bit ironical that we can find lots out about the people we don't beed to research. I guess I got interested because I was wondering what brought Patience Truman and William Wootten together. Were they just friend's or were they in a relationship and all that stuff.
I was hoping to find one of them was related to one of my ancestrs, but that does not seem to be the case.

I understand. Everything is worth checking out.
I think that these days we forget that then people esp. Widows took in Lodgers to help pay the Bills.
