Debra

These look very much like one couple as I have marriage 29/7/06 at Calverley,Pudsey, Yorkshire, England.

I presume Florence Patton was Rurth Ann's sister.

I am tracing partridges, are you connected ?

I can't see any death notices which are usually a good source of info
http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/

You may have to download their death certs which will name any children.  Best to go for William and Alfred as their wives were both still living to give the correct info.

We are not allowed to talk about living people (any children possibly would be), but if anyone finds anything they can PM you.

WILLIAM PARTRIDGE enlisted for ww1 in 1916 aged 30.

He was of a "Salvationist" by religion and a Labourer by occupation.

His wife RUTH ANN was his Next of Kin living at Rose Street Fitzroy.

He was awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous service.

You can read his digitised Service History at

Search as a guest and enter Ruth Partridge in the search box.

JOHN THOMAS CARLYLE  also enlisted for ww1, on 2 occasions.

First aged 22 in 1914.
He was variously listed as a labouer and a groom.

His father of the same name was his Next of Kin and they shared an address in Fitzroy.

In 1917 he enlisted again and was still at the same address with his father.

By now he was a Horse Trainer.

Noting that WILLIAM PARTRIDGE was Horse Driver, perhaps the 2 were associated through horse occupations.

Thanks Sue

I have most of Electoral rolls which was my source that they had emigrated to Australia. They were my grandmothers brothers and family stories tell of my uncle visiting Australia after war to see relations.
With your help  and Debra it has broken the brick wall.
Next is to see if they had family
