Birth certs will give their parents names.
I see you have year and place for Henry - has someone got his birth  cert?
Do you know where/when Margaret was born?
Do you know where they married? has anyone got themariage cert? that will give their fatehrs names and be a starting point.
Have you looked for Henry's birth on FreeBMD?

sorry lots of questions, but best to know exactly what you have and havent got, and where you have and havent looked, before duplicating.

PS Warm welcome to Rootschat!

PPS Have just chesked FreeBMD and there is not a birth for Henry Ingram in Newcastle in 1898. Where did you get the info? What does the W stand for?

he had a doppleganger   :P

Births Sep 1896

Ingram  Henry William    Poplar  1c 561

No Henry (W) Ingrams are associated with Newcastle in the 1901 census, theres a few plain Henrys, but as I say, no links up North....

Get his marriage cert & see if his Father was John ...

1901 census of Hackney - RG13/Piece: 233 Folio: 58 Page: 40

John Ingram 30 Head of Household born Hoxton: a House Painter
Alice A Ingram 30 Wife born Old Ford
Louisa A Ingram 8 dau ditto
Lillian F G Ingram 7 dau ditto
Henry W Ingram 4 born Bow  (would a Cockney go up to Newcastle ?)

What proof do you have that he was actually born in Newcastle?

I ask because nobody can find a birth registration for him there, or any mention in a census?  ???

1911 does have an Ingram family, parents of the right age, but father & children all born in Walsall, mother born in London.

No Henry W aged 13, though.
If it's the right family, the Henry W was named after his father.

I can find 7 births of Ingram children, mother's maiden name Kirkup, all in Barnsley district 1920 to 1936.

Ellen, Dorothy, George W, Ronald, Sheila, Marjorie and Brenda.

There is only 1 marriage nationwide, in the years 1910-1945, of a male Ingram to a female Kirkup, and that is the one we have already mentioned.
