Title: Mary Anne Collett marriage 1846
Post by: DaveM888 on Tuesday 07 June 11 09:48 BST (UK)
I have a marriage between Mary Anne Collett to Robert Snook Shay in Mar 1846 St Hildas South Shields. I checked the Family Search transcripts andthis year is part of a block of years  that appear to be missing from their images. Can anyone helkp me here as I wanted to know whether Mary Anne Collet declared as spinster or widow.

I can see the marriage on FindMyPast .If she was a widow she would probably have used her married name when she married again

4 Mar 1846 Mary Ann Collett and Robert Snook Shay

Generally the BT's only have marriages to 1837, i've only seen one parish that had them after this date.

The marriage is on South Tyneside's BMD index.

Mary is recorded as both Collett & Anderson, tho whether she is a widow you need to check the cert.

Many Thanks all.

fyi The family search bishops transcripts show the following for South Shields
St Hildas 1763-1840, There is an entry labelled 1818-1866 this is in fact 1848-1866, and 1866-1891
St Stephen 1840-1848
Holy Trinity 1840-1848, 1864-1867

So it is only 1841-1847 that is missing!!!
