Hello,
My 5 x GG Patrick French Esq, formerly of Brooklodge Galway, died 11/8/1858 at Carysfort Avenue Blackrock, Dublin County.
His wife Frances Maria French nee Richardson, died 6 years later betwen Jan - Mar 1864, pressumeably of the same address.
It appears from the helpful advice on this board that Deansgrange had not opened at this time. I am wodnering if anyone has any suggestions as to which cemetery they might have been buried in.
Thanks in advance Theresa French

Hi Theresa
You are correct about Dean's Grange. The first burial there was in 1865. Two possibilities in the vicinity of Blackrock - Merrion (Bellevue) on Merrion Road and Stillorgan (St Brigid's) in Stillorgan. They are listed with map and information on burial records on the Dublin Heritage website. The link is as follows (select the graveyard from the drop down menu):

Good luck

Thank you.
An email confirmed that they are in fact buried in Mount Jerome Cemetery in Dublin. I went off a hunch since my 4 x GGrandmother (their daughter in law) is also buried there. However perplexingly they are apparently buried in common graves. This dos not make any sense to me since they owned a great deal of property.
Does anyone know why someone in that situation would be buried in a common grave, which I understand to mean that they were pauper's....
Thank again Theresa
