Hi,
I am trying to track down the family of Margaret Fell.(1850-1880). Her father was Peter Fell (c1823-1870). Her sister was Agnes Fell (1855-1878). I think they came from Scotland. Margaret married Edward Edwards in 1872 at St Elphin's Church, Warrington, Cheshire.( my Great Grandfather) and lived and died in Runcorn. She is buried in Runcorn Cemetery.
I have her in the 1871 census as living in Bold Lancashire.
I cannot find the family in the 1861 census or the 1851 one.
Any leads would be most welcome.
Thanks

Hi MAS
You have another similar post on the East Lothian board here. It can confuse people if two similar posts are running on different boards (duplication of effort being one of the main problems). Which post would you prefer to keep open?

1871 census has her age as 19 so birth c1852
Have you found Agnes on any census records
Is there any mention of her father's occupation on her marriage/death certificate?

Hello, Thanks for the link..
Their father was Peter Fell shown as 'gardener deceased' on the marriage certificate of Margaret Fell and Edward Edwards.

Hi,
I have just come across this message today and wondered if you had checked censuse for the Isle of Man? The surname Fell (or Fayle) is fairly common there and in fact I have Fells in my ancestry on my Mother's side.
Many people from Isle of Man moved to Lancashire and other counties of Northern England for work, so it seems a distinct possibility.
