I have been unable to track down the date of arrival in Victoria of Thomas Willington whose name later changed to Wellington. He married Mary White in 1857 but I just can't find him between 1850 - 1857.
I did find a Thomas Willington who arrived on board Bangalore in 1855 with his family but the names (and his age 16) do not match my Thomas' family.
Would appreciate very much if someone could trace him for me. :) :)
Many thanks
Juddee

Hi Jeano
Apologies for the late reply.
I've gone back over what I have on my Willington family but cannot find any connection with your line at this time. My lot appear to originate from around the Gloustershire area but if I come across any that I believe may belong to you I'll be in touch.
Good luck with your searching.
Cheers Juddee

Hi Juddee
Had any luck with this request? It's been a while.

Purchase of his death cert should show years in Aus and time in each State.
Perhaps he arrived pre 1852 as an Unassisted emigrant - no online records. Found reference to the following recently
Argus passenger index 1846-1865. Microfiche
Hughes passengers from overseas to Port Phillip district pre 1852 Microfiche
I am unable to help you with lookups as I live in a remote area of Aus...no libraries within 200 kms and decent library 300kms.
Perhaps another chatter may pick this up and do a lookup for you....and perhaps me as well. ;D
Cheers

Juddee,
Have you seen this?: http://home.vicnet.net.au/~buninhis/pages/newjum04.htm
WILLINGTON (Wellington) Thomas Willington purchased four allotments in Warrenheip St. in April 1856. His descendant in Mildura is seeking more information. It seems unlikely that he ever lived in Buninyong, for he established the undertaking firm of Thomas Wellington in Sturt St. Ballarat.
Information here about the brother of the above Thomas - http://www.ballaratgenealogy.org.au/digby/help2002.htm

Hi Juddee,
I've just joined and saw your post about our mutual ancestor Thomas.
The story that I've been told was that Thomas came to Australia as a cabin boy in the early 1850s and jumped ship to start a new life after being orphaned. No specific details about the ship name or date though.
