Title: Seeking the Hoe family - Thurgaston and Southwell.

I am seeking information about the Hoe family from Thurgaston.

Richard Hoe (born 1818-1820) married Mary Cadman in 1841. He had 5 children, all born in Southwell.

Richard's parents were Thomas Hoe and MAry Mulberry. They married on 13 Dec 1813 (according to IGI).

I would welcome any definite details of any of the above.

Thomas Hoe, Head, 55 Yrs, No Occ given. Mary 55 yrs, Sarah 25 yrs, Richard 20 yrs, Shoe Maker.  All born Notts.

Notts Marriage Index
Richard Hoe/Mary Cadman, Blidworth, 29.11.1841
Thomas Hoe/Mary Tutbery, Thurgarton, 13.12.1813

Tutbery is spelt as shown but on checking the 1841 Census that surname in Thurgarton is spelt in the more usual way, Tutbury.

Richard married Mary Cadman 29 November 1841 at Blidworth Nottm.

A member of this family Walter Cadman Hoe went to Colorado in 1896. He sailed from Liverpool to New York.
He left behind a wife and 8 children. The youngest of these children was Kathleen Hoe, who was aged 2 at the time. She later went on to marry a Mr Alfred Wilkinson.

I think the Richard Hoe you refer to was in Southwell Workhouse at one time.
