I have never searched outside of the UK before so can anybody point me in the right direction for finding out anything on the following family who up until 1891 lived in Glasgow.
Walter Kelly born 1867 in Paris, France and Daniel S Kelly born 1882 in Glasgow I believe were White Father RC missionary priests in South Africa. They both attended a seminary in Glasgow, Walter disappears after the 1891 census, and Daniel after the 1901.
I cannot find anything on their parents on any UK census or death records after 1891, possibly they went too. Walter H Kelly born 1844 in London and Catherine (Morley) Kelly born 1846 in London.
Ethel M Kelly born 1884 in Glasgow occupation Typist & Catherine E Kelly born 1869 in London occupation Nurse sailed to the Cape on the Runic on 12 May 1904. Another sister Winifred MS Kelly born 1876 in Glasgow sailed backwards and forwards from 1922 onwards (cannot find her on a passenger list before that.
Winifred and Ethel managed or owned a Hotel in Port Elizabeth in the 1930's. I know Ethel married but don't know her married name. Winifred went back to England suffering from Cancer and died in England in 1947. Ethel and family moved to Rhodesia.
Any help on where to go next would be very helpful. Thanks Jacqueline

The site Ancestor.co.za has an estate notice for one Walter Henry KELLY from 1916.
I don't know if this is your Walter H Kelly but being born in 1844, this could be close.
No other detail is given and you would need to order the document at the cost of GBP4-93 for more info and hopefully this is the person you are looking for.
Regards.

Thanks, I have now purchased the record, now just wait for it to come and see if it's my Walter. There is also a Daniel Kelly on there, but will see if Walter is right first. Shame they haven't got marriage records.
Thanks again for your help

I have just rediscovered some letter's I inherited from my Aunt a few years ago. How I forgot them I don't know. So now know a little more about Ethel Kelly and family.
Ethel Kelly's married name was WELSH. She lived at 24 Park Lane, Port Elizabeth (till 1954).
She had three children, DANIEL WELSH, GEORGE WELSH and FLORENCE WELSH. I expect they are all dead by now, their children probably in their 60's. George had two son's, Daniel a son and a daughter, and Florence had daughter's one named Lynette Ann born in 1954, but don't know Florence's married name. Around 1954 George went to Salisbury, Rhodesia to work and Ethel, in bad health, sold up and went to live near him. That's the last heard of the family.
Does any of this ring bells with anybody?

The only other info I have prior to Walter Henry Kelly born 1844 died 1908 married to Catherine Morley, was that he was the son of Walter Kelly and Mary Ann Fynes - no dates available.
