Yes Thanks Allison,
I have all these certificates, what I am looking for is where John Albert Griffiths ( brn 1881 ) came from, I cant seem to find any info of where they are from I know his mothers name was Rebecca Fleming and of course his fathers name was John Albert, these are on his marriage cert to Louisa, John ( his father ) was deseased at the time of their marriage...
I really want to find out how long they have been in Australia and what country they came fom, I am presuming it will be England but not 100% sure

Hi kesham,

John Albert was born in 1879 not 1881, as per the details that Allison gave you and his birth was registered in Paddington.  There doesn't seem to be any indication in the indexes that the father also had the middle name "Albert".

The 1879 birth certificate will give you the places of birth for both his mother Rebecca and his father John and also their marriage details.  As you say, they could have come from anywhere.

This would appear to be his brother Charles Russell GRIFFITHS

Hi Debra
Thanks for all that info, do you think if I ordered Rebecca's death certificate I could get more info on her, But I still need to get John's info and as far as I know John Albert has been going down the line for generations,
I need to maybe find out when he died but I have no idea of his parent's name, well his fathers name would have been John, have no idea of his mum's name thou... Maybe there wedding certificate may help me ( John & Rebecca's ) what do you think..

Hello again ,

Here are some siblings { of course would have to be verified}
5251/1878    GRIFFITHS    JOSEPH    JOHN    REBECCA    PADDINGTON
7013/1881    GRIFFITHS    EMMA    JOHN    REBECCA    PADDINGTON
17622/1884    GRIFFITHS    WILLIAM S    JOHN    REBECCA    RYDE
4810/1885    GRIFFITHS    ELSIE M    JOHN    REBECCA    BALMAIN

Rebecca's death :
908/1938    GRIFFITHS    REBECCA    ALEXANDER    REBECCA    DRUMMOYNE

The Field of Mars cemetery is usually searchable online but I can't get it to work today  ???
http://www.catholiccemeteries.org.au/
If we could find Rebecca's burial she may be buried with John which would help us narrow down the entries for his death .

John and Rebecca's Marriage certificate should list both parents of bride and groom.

233/1936    GRIFFITHS    JOHN ALBERT    JOHN    REBECCA    SYDNEY

Charles' death :
36655/1966    GRIFFITHS    CHARLES RUSSELL    JOHN    REBECCA    BURWOOD

5601/1967    GRIFFITHS    JOHN ALBERT    JOHN ALBERT    LOUISA ANN    SYDNEY

Regards
Alison

The information on death certificates can be unreliable.  The 1879 birth certificate for John Albert will give you the places of birth for both his mother Rebecca and his father John and also their marriage details.

A marriage certificate would be great, do you know where they married?

The death of Joseph BENTLEY and it looks like their second child Florence must have been born just after Joseph's death

Hi kesham,

If you read Rebecca GRIFFITHS' funeral notice it mentions:

Mr A. BENTLEY - this would be Alexander, son of Rebecca from her first marriage to Joseph BENTLEY
Mr and Mrs C. JENNENS - this would be Florence, daughter of Rebecca from her first marriage to Joseph BENTLEY.  Florence married Charles JENNENS in 1897.

It also mentions Rebecca's daughters from her second marriage to John GRIFFITHS - Emma and Lily, married surnames PERIGO and JACKSON.
