Hi Guys can anyone help me please i'm in search of a grave and i'm having no luck as yet. The grave is of Jane Helena Millington who died at her home, 34 Chancery Street on 1st February 1936. I'm sure she must be buried near to her home.
Can anyone help at all?
Thanks, Luke

It is in Chadderton.
Have looked on Oldham,s burial web site but not on there http://apps1.oldham.gov.uk/BacasWeb/GenSearch.aspx
Looked on Manchester's and not there http://www.burialrecords.manchester.gov.uk/GenSearch.aspx
Plenty of people buried with that surname on those sites but not your Jane Helena Millington .
She may well be in a church grave with other family members?
Even tried Tameside but still not on there http://www.tameside.gov.uk/corpgen2/cemandcrem.htm

Your lady is not buried in any Oldham council cemetery :( does she have family in Rochdale?
The Oldham burial website is not that good but 100% better than Salford/Rochdale who don't have one, and Manchester is just 95% fantastic.
Bit of history
Manchester council sent all there burial registers overseas to be photographed and transcribed, that is why all the records are online.
Oldham council took a different approach they are not putting old records online unless an old grave has to be reopened, they then create that entry on bacas with all data from the register.
I am not sure how Tameside are doing it but it seems to be the same way as Oldham.
You will need to find her orbs in the local newspaper to find the burial location.

Hi Luke
Registration District was Middleton.
She must be buried in the Rochdale area, or maybe even St Leonard's Church Middleton.
This is a very good site when it comes to the Millington name "wife was a millie" and it has been of great help over the years

Hi willie
You are correct with that entry, but we don't know if someone enquired about that person and it got logged - I cannot answer just speculate
I have been a rootschat member since 2005 "I know my profile does not reflect that" and this subject has been raised many many times, If you search rootschat maybe 2/3 years ago a lot of discussion's were raised about all the council burial websites, and due mainly to the costs, that is what Oldham planned for - all burials from when bacas was installed are logged and any graves which need reopening the registers are cross referenced ---- that was a few years ago, have they changed there policy "I don't know" but I doubt it.
