Will/Probate of Timothy Hogan d. 18 May 1931 - NT
Can anyone tell me where I am likely to find out about the adminstration of Timothy Hogan's estate after his death, if the public trustee, J.W. Nichols, put his property up for sale by tender on 16 June 1931?
I currently reside in the UK, so it's not like I can pop into the state library to access records. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi HMGG
There is a few articles on his death here and an Obit, seems he was a widower and had a son in Townsville and a daughter that was a Hospital Matron in Rockhampton, Timothy Hogan was originally from Ireland

Ah yes.
I already have the newspaper articles in relation to him (from Trove), but his grandchildren are curious to learn why both his daughter and son received nothing from his estate, so I am chasing the probate/intestate documents.

I should just like to mention how wonderfully helpful the people of the Northern Territory are, as are the kind people here at RootsChat. I spoke to the registrar of BMD in Darwin, who kindly read out the certificate to me (I am purchasing it, too) and she then gave me a telephone number for the people who look after the cemetery, who found the records for my great-grandfather and offered to take a photograph and send it to me.
I also spoke to someone at the supreme court who is going to try and locate the records for me. And, thanks to craizi daizi, I also found the notice from the public trustee asking for beneficiaries, creditors, etc. to come forward, which was not published nationally, meaning neither my grandfather nor his sister would have been aware of my great grandfather's death or that his estate was in the hands of the public trustee.
