Hello :)
I'm trying to find out some information about Albert Edward Le Provost dob the 1930s, I think, and served in the Royal Navy and was stationed in Portsmouth in the late 1950s.
Can anyone with any information let me know, especially if you are researching this family.
I notice there are many Le Prevosts I can find information for ........ but the spelling I am looking for is Le Provost.
Thank you

Rootschat isn't a forum for tracing living relatives/misplaced friends. Is there a possibility this person is still alive?

Hi Aghadowey,
Theoretically age wise it should be possible, but the only reference on the net I've managed to find for this name says he died in a Dorset hospital in 2002. It is on a family tree for a Schnieder family in America ... I have sent them a query but have not as yet received any reply.
So will it be okay to keep this request on here? If you think I should remove it please let me know and I will.
Thank you
Steph

Perhaps someone will be able to check death index and see if there's a possible death in 2002 (or so) in Dorset or vacinity - I think at that stage date of birth is listed in the index.

All Guernsey Le Prevost that I know of are Le Prevost ..but has often been misspelt to Le Provost..especially outside of Guernsey..there is a Le Prevost tree on Donkipedia ..and i have lots of genealogy of this family back into the 1600's stemming from 2 branches of the same family....I would be interested to have his ancestry ..there is a Le Prevost family group on Facebook that I began earlier this year... Victoria Le Prevost

Hi Gsygirl,
Thanks for your reply.
I think I may have made contact with the brother-in-law of the late Albert Le Provost and I will be asking him if the family does date back far in Guernsey and if at some time the spelling of the name changed from Le Prevost. If I manage to find out aything interesting and a connection to Le Prevost I will let you know.
Thanks again for your interest.
