As a child in the forests of North Devon in the early 40s I was allowed to ride on the backs of these magnificent horses with their chains hooked over their collars as they returned to collect the next log.

Hello Bapkas,
I am sorry but I am not skilled enough to offer a date. There is very little to go on I think
since working men (my own family included) looked like this over a long timespan.
There are people on here who may be able to help more than I can.
Good luck

Put the mouse over the picture.... a drop down menu appears,.......click "Save Picture As"....
and put it where you save your pics. ie, My Pictures.
You can also click on the paper clip under the picture and save that way.

Hi bapkas,
There's not a lot to go by, but I would guess at the first photo being from the 1880s or possibly 1890s, and the picture of the man with the horse at early 1900s/1910s.
Cheers
Prue
-
I would go along with Prue although I think the 1st. is 1890's rather than 80's.
The 2nd. early 1900's.
If you have the original can you show us the back of photo 1.
