I wonder if there is anyone out there who could give me any information of St.Margarets Unmarried Mothers Hostel in Hackney (262 Victoria Park Road). I was born there in 1945 and in 1946 was adopted. I have been fully successful in researching my past apart from the first year of my life. Any info would be gratefully received.

Hi
Welcome to Rootschat
Hackney is in London so not part of Essex (the board your topic is posted on), but this website probably has the most information about St Margaret's.

It looks as if that is the only information available on the nursing home. It looks pretty limited. There may be no surviving records if it was a private home but it is worth contacting the link given for Hackney Social Services as they are likely to know more.
Regards
Valda
