I'm looking for info on John Henderson married to Mary Purves. They had a son George Henderson born in Duns c1852. He married Margaret Leitch in Gavinton 1877.
Any info much appreciated

Hi Ted,
Where did you get the parents names from? Have you found George in the 1861 census? The George I've come up with would mean his mother was Mary Henderson?
Do you have any other information?

Hi Emma,
I have details of George and Margarets wedding and this shows who the parents are. I am looking for the family of David Henderson born c1884 married to a Catherine Little born 30 July 1882 and I'm hoping that George and Margaret are his parents.

Hi Ted,
So do you not have David's marriage which would show his parents? Did he go abroad? Sorry if I am stating the obvious and let me know if i am missing something? Can probably help you with more information.

Hi Barbara,
I have the marriage details now and it all connects. I am now looking for info on John Henderson married to Elizabeth Stavert born about 1766 who was the daughter of George Stavert married to Betty Neil.

Hi Ted,
There were at least two Elizabeth Staverts in Roxburghshire - one baptized 7 Jun 1766 in Hawick to George Stavert and Betty Niel/Neil and the other 14 Jan 1771 in Todshaugh Hillshiel, Roberton to John Stavert ( and possibly Margaret Scott). I am trying to sort out which Elizabeth married the following:
Betty Stavert married Henry Turnbull on 30 December 1789. Children-
Henryetta Rae Turnbull b. 10 Jan 1791
Elizabeth Turnbull b. 8 Jan 1793
John Turnbull b. 4 Apr 1795, d. 20 Jul 1880
Betty Stavert married John Henderson 18 Dec 1791 Cavers M11785-2 and they had children John 02 Mar 1801 in Bowden C11783-2 and Christian 20 Jan 1809 in Lilliesleaf C01993-9
Elizabeth Stavert married John Turnbull on 6 May 1810 at Wilton, Roxburgh, Scotland M118102 (maybe in Bortaugh Parish.) They had a son John Turnbull baptized 10 May 1813 in Cavers, Roxburghshire C11785-4.
Could we compare notes?
Cath
