Title: Josef and Maria Gundrum - Ottowa COMPLETED
Post by: Skull on Sunday 22 May 11 07:26 BST (UK): I'm looking for any details on Josef and Maria Gundrum and family. I believe they were both born in about 1950 in Hungary. Her parents emigrated to Canada sometime after this. I don't have her maiden name or any marriage details.

They were living in Ottowa in the early 1970's.

Post by: polarbear on Sunday 22 May 11 14:34 BST (UK): You might have some luck with this link to the white pages .... there are only 14 listings for this name in all of Canada, although none for Ottawa. There is always the possibility that they c/h moved.

Ottawa directories are another possible resource although I don't know whether they are on line for the timespan you are looking at. The Ottawa public library may do a lookup if you contact them.

So it seems that Maria's maiden name was Mattesz. I believe Maria and Josef divorced at some stage, and perhaps she married again. I know she was a hairdresser at Elizabeth's Salon somewhere in Ottawa in the 1970's. I wonder what happened to her.

I posted this on one of the other threads but will add it here as well since this one seems to still be quite active.

Using this link to the telephone directory (as mentioned earlier) you should be able to find contact info for someone named "V". I just put the last name and Ottawa in the boxes and found a "V" living just outside Ottawa. Perhaps they could help you with the info you are looking for if they are the correct individual?
