Hi All, Just wondering if anybody had these surnames in their tree at all.  I have a Benjamin Edge b c1758 wife Elizabeth Climpson b c1746.  Their first child Ann b 1779 Sarratt, from then on the family stayed around Sarratt and Kings Langley area, in about 1840 it appears the name changed from Edge to Hedge, this has been put down to the fact that they ran their own cottage industry and wanted to sound more up market, how true this is I am unsure.  Any further help with this family would be great,

They still had the name Edge in 1841.

ha ha already have them on my tree, the boarder James puzzles me tho, would have thought he connected to the family somewhere.  Do not have Hedge family in Oxfordshire at all.  before abt 1840 you will find them as Edge's not Hedge.
