Title: Abingdon Parish Register Look Up Request

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone has access to the parish records for Abingdon St Helens.  I'm looking for confirmation of the marriage of William Whicheloe (spelling may vary) to Sarah Gibbons on 20th Sept 1755.

Also if anyone can find his birth you would be a miracle worker!!!

Hi,
I have looked in the Abingdon St.Helens transcripts (exOFHS) and
cannot find the entry you list. I've searched using Sarah Gibbons
and William Whicheloe (+variants) and the date without success.

I've also checked out the Abingdon St.Nicholas' transcripts - no
luck there either.

Where did you get the date of 20-9-1755 from?

As Alan said the marriage did not take place in Abingdon but i have found it for you....

Thank you both so much, I really do appreciate your help.  Confirmation means everything when doing your tree, as you probably know.  Now I just need to sort out his kids and parents.  Wish me luck, and thanks again

I hope I'm not being really cheeky by asking but I was wondering if someone would be able to confirm the birth of William Whicheloe and Sarah Gibbons children for me please.  This is what I have so far....

Write a letter to The Church Wardens, St Helens Church, Abingdon, Oxford and see if you have any luck.  They may well be able to guide you to someone who could show you a parish register.
