Welcome to Rootschat. As William was born in 1843 (Sept 1837 being the earliest date you can get one) it would be a good idea to get his birth certificate from GRO as this will give you both of his parents, and will then give you some concrete facts to enable you to move back further in time. On IGI there is a William Nailor who was baptised on the 12th March 1843 with parents John and Elizabeth.
regards.

Hello Maythree,
If you find that all the above is the right connection you will also find that:-
Louisa New was dau of Henry New 1820 Kingsclere and Elizabeth Randall 1825 Kintbury.  If you go to
http://startx.co.uk:2317/Kingsclere  you will find some information on that side.
The IGI also has some of the other Nailor children baptisms from the 1851 although they are submitted ones.
If they lived at Cold Ash it is possible that they married in Bucklebury rather than Thatcham, in which case the Reg Dist at that time was Bradfield.

Yours
Vicwinann

Although I didn't say so before, I have William Naylor and Louisa New as very tiny twigs on my tree. Not totally proven hence my reluctance to pass on possibly wrong info.
However, my research indicates via baptisms, marriages and censuses, that William's parents were John Naylor 1818 and Elizabeth Powell. John Naylor's parents as John and Mary nee Wells of Bucklebury
John 1818's youngest sister of 10 siblings, Louisa 1837, married Edward Wheeler. From there, my tree twists and turns through several marriages into other linked  families like Jenkins, Pipers, and Northways, backwards and sideways until it re-links back to my main Sellwood/Fisher/Hamblin/Franklin  lines in Bucklebury.
Hope this helps. Happy to pass on what I have if you send me a PM

hi Vicwinann
thanks for that. i had thought john naylor 1818 was parent only because he married in 1841/2 an elizabeth powell b1821 (BRADFIELD). his parents john/mary. havent really studied this yet as there are so many john naylers from thatcham/bucklebury etc.
you might gather im very new to roots chat and dont understand the language. whats a 'PM'. any pointers are worth a look

Hello Maythree,
Sorry about the jargon.  A PM is a private message. Once you have sent 3 open messages to Rootschat you can use this facility.
Look for the little green scroll on the side of my message next to the icon of a face, and press that. It will take you to a page where you can send a message that is only seen by you and the recipient - me.
I don't have the 1851 marriage cert for John Naylor and Elizabeth Powell.
However, all three marriages on the IGI are submitted (with no surnames for wife), rather than collected ones, and to me look as if the submitter  was speculating. The only marriage in the BMD registrations in Berkshire is the one in 1841 to Elizabeth Powell.
The 1851 census entry bears out that John was age 32 with a son William, so that seems to bear out that this is your William. You would need to get William's birth cert to be absolutely sure. This is it, I think, the name being spelt in different ways on different documents.
Births Mar 1843  Nailer  William     Newbury  6 232

I know that on the 1841 marriage BMD that the other two marriages were for Henry Johnson and Ann Sellwood, and Hannah Kimber and Isaac Sanford because they are two of mine.
