I have been searching for Harry Hill b1882 Watling Street, Newtown, Hammerwich. I have only found him on the 1891 census with his family. Unfortunately the family was missed off the 1901 census. I cannot find a birth entry for him.I have tried Henry and Harry.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Harry's older brother Arthur (abt.1878) is probably at Coleshill in 1901:
Piece 2894, Folio 96, Page 1
...living with his uncle Mark Nicholds. He's shown as born at Brownhills which is near Hammerwich on the opposite side of Watling Street (and where they are living in 1891). Harry's mother Emma was born at Coleshill.
Harry's brother John is probably at Brownhills in 1901 with his wife and mother in law:
Piece 2666, Folio 65, Page 20
Possible births for Harry:
Sep 1881 Walsall 6b 704
Hill, Harold Harry
Jun 1882
Hill, Harold Walsall 6b 764
(Brownhills birth could be registered at nearby Walsall).
William as you know may be the person listed at Leamore in 1901 shown as b Essington.
Hope thats some help at least, no sign of Harry on 1901...yet :)

Paul,
Thank you for your reply.
The entry you found for a John Hill 1901 is not the right one.
Yes, the William HIll in Leamore is one of the brothers.
Arthur was my grandfather.
Harry was definetly born at Watling Street, Newtown, Hammerwich. So his birth would have been registered in Lichfield.
I appreciate your efforts to help me find Harry HIll.

Hi Sheila
I wouldn't discount the Walsall birth registrations - unless you have some incontrovertible proof (and I can't think what that could be) it's perfectly possible that Harry was actually born in the Walsall registration district (only a mile or two distant) but recorded as born at Hammerwich on the census.
Keep digging! :D
