Title: Brown information
Post by: Canada529 on Wednesday 11 May 11 20:39 BST (UK)
In researching my ancestry I am having difficulty following two individuals -- their place of birth, ancestors, etc.
Joseph W. Brown married Lucy A. Brown in Madelay, Salop in 1Q 1925.  The Browns enter my genealogy several times but I have no idea where Joseph came from.
Thomas Brown born abt. 1867, d 1Q 1900 in Middlesex, married Frances Sarah Summers in 4Q 1894 at Burton-upon-Trent, Staff.  I also do not know Thomas Brown's previous history.
If you can help with these, I would be most appreciative.  It is somewhat difficult to trace some information from Canada.

With Brown being such a common surname here, you are going to be very lucky to get further back from the censuses alone.

You have the marriage reference for both. You can send off for both marriage certificates at www.gro.gov.uk which will cost you about £10 each. You can do that from Canada. You should get the father's name of both the bride and groom, their occupations and where the bride and groom lived.
The birth certificate for Thomas Brown should give you both his parents names.

If I have picked the right couple, she was a Lucy Annie Brown born in Aston Warwickshire on May the 9th 1904 and died in Shrewsbury Shropshire in 1973.Again working from a death,he was a Joseph Wallace Brown born on the 17th of November 1904 in the Atcham District of Montgomeryshire/Shropshire and who died in Shrewsbury Shropshire in 1980.

Regards
William Russell Jones.
