Title: People & Families-Andrew Kavanagh
Post by: Kathleen123 on Monday 09 May 11 19:21 BST (UK)
I am looking for information on my GGGrandfather, Andrew Kavanagh.  All I know about him is that he was married to Mary Brien and they had at least 2 children, James and Jane.  James was born in 1832 in Co. Kildare (I believe) and was married to Mary Boulger in 1859 at Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare.  I would appreciate any suggestions on how to find my GGGrandfather.  It is likely that he moved to the Gorey area of Co. Wexford with his son.

unfortunately you would need to know where (i.e. which parish) Andrew was baptised or married to investigate what parish records (if any) are available for the area...

Kavanagh is a common surname... I have an extensive line of Kavanagh/Cavanaghs (including a number of Andrews) myself and it can get very tricky following them if they move around

I am also related to Andrew Kavanagh who was born around 1840 and married in Arklow 1866 to Alice Green.  Andrew's father was a James Kavanagh. There are extensive arklow parish records online.
