Post by: muckypup on Sunday 08 May 11 18:27 BST (UK)
Inverclyde Council has uploaded to their website, 65 Greenock Post Office Directories all in PDF format

They range from 1805-1912 with the early 1800's missing

I have downloaded a few they average about 30mb for each one

I have traced my family to a few different addresses through the years available

The PO directories are also available to view here www.nls.uk/family-history/directories/post-office/index.cfm?place=Greenock

I find viewing them under the option of 'view on line' an easier/quicker option than the pdf version, but that might be just me!

The whole range of historical PO directories available for Scotland can be seen here www.nls.uk/family-history/directories/post-office/
