Title: Ages of this couple

Hello just wondering if someone could put an age to these two people please. The photograph was taken in 1962.

Difficult because people seemed to look and dress older than we do now. My guess is that he is late 30s to mid 40s, maybe a tad older, and that she is mid 30s to early 40s. Chrisann

I'd put them a bit older -  late 40s to early 50s :)

I would go mid to late 50's for him and she would be late 40's or early 50's.

I would go along with the mid 40s votes, with him a couple of years or so older than her.

I'm sure they're older than 40s - I'd go for around 50 for her, and mid-50s at least for him.

I think they're younger than 50's, it's just the style of the time. Do you know who they might be?

We're all much younger now!  :)

I agree with Igor that she is definitely younger than her 50s (unless she has worn spectacularly well, of course!).  If you look at a close-up, she is not particularly lined and her neck is in fairly good nick.  The clothes of that era (pre Beatles) tended to make even young people look old.  I remember, because I was wearing similar clothes 'for best' when I was about 15 and could drink in any pub in Ipswich  ;D ;D ;D

She looks like my MiL at that time - and she was mid 50s  and Scottish!!   ;) ;)    ;D ;D

I'm terrible at this type of thing but I'd say about 53 for him and 46 for her.
As a very rough guess.

Hello, thank you everyone. I also think he is 50 ish and her 40 ish. As for who they are... he is the brother of my great grandmother Annie Gallagher (she was born 1910). His and Annie's mother was also Annie Gallagher born 1891. She had the children illegitimate and thats why I'm unsure of his surname, it's either Gallagher or Kenny.
