Does anyone know where Sutherland Street is, or was, in Kirkcaldy? When my parents were first married they set up home at No.135.

Hi Jack
Sutherland Street used to be between Institution Street and Rosabelle Street in Sinclairtown. It's no longer there, it's been replaced with flats - Sutherland Place and Shetland Place.
If you visit http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html you'll be able to find it on one of the old Fife maps. If you put Sinclairtown in the search box then view the 1914 pre-WWII map, scroll to the bottom left, you'll find it. ;)

Many thanks for that Jo. Now that you've located it I'll get an early map from the NLS.

I see you had ancestors called Blyth in Kirkcaldy. I believe I am descended from Patrick Blyth and Isabel Inglis who were married in 1709 in the parish of Abbotshall, Kirkcaldy, and from their son Patrick Blyth who married Margaret Watson of Dysart in 1744.
I don't believe these Kirkcaldy Blyths were related to John Blyth the manufacturer in Dysart who was the grandfather of Michael Portillo.

Sorry Harry but I don't have any Patrick Blyth in my tree.

Hi Tammy :)
Not connected to the family , but I think James Dunning's wife was Grace Rodger.
James Dunning was at 101 Sutherland Street 1935 , 1940(Valuation Rolls Scotlandspeople).
