The IGI has no Morton baptisms between 1782-
1913 1813. :-[

Nice one Geoff :)
The IGI has no Morton baptisms between 1782-1913. :)
1782 - 1813 ;)
It looks like they have been filmed by the LDS for the period we want though so at least they are out there.

Hi Rosie how could i prove it x

Lincs Archives have Morton records too http://tinyurl.com/5v3vall
It's the price of an e-mail to find out what they can do for you. ;)

Hi all i contacted a crematorium in Lincolnshire and asked for information about williams parents but had nothing >:( I feelm like ive hit a brick wall with trying to trace his parents. Surley the information must be out there some where. I might have 2 hire a expert for this one ive having no look x
-
Cremation didn't become legal till ... um ... 1880s ish. I assume those folks had died long before then. :-\
-
Sorry geoff i meant archives
-
Hi
Did the archives look at Morton registers for you ?
Rosie
-
Hi the lady i spoke to wasn't very helpful i got the impression she couldn't be bothered. I got an email telling me his grave num and that was it.
-
You could put a post on here headed 'Lincolnshire Archives look up Morton by Bourne' and ask if anyone going to the archives can look it up for you.
Having just looked at the 1841 census for William I see that amongst his children he has an Edward and a Fanny (Frances) It certainly looks as though the marriage we found is likely to be his parents.
The other alternative could be to order Film 1450470 from your local LDS family history centre and view it yourself there

Hi,
There is a snippet in "Grantham in the News 1851-1875"by John Pinchbeck
Headed Maintenance.
Edward Healey of Keisby agreed to pay 5p a week towards the illegitimate child born by Elizabeth Taylor plus 50p for the midwife.
I wonder if Grantham library has any Morton by Bourne parish records.?? I could get in touch tomorrow and find out (as I am not in library until Saturday morning) If so I will let you know.

Thankyou Kathy very kind of you x how did you come across it
-
Your Edward Healey husband of Frances was dead by 1851.
There is an Edward Healey living in Keisby in 1851 who is 'married' though his wife was 'away from home' at the time of the 1851 census - he was bn 1812 in Leicestershire so probably not related to yours.

Hi
Have been in touch via phone with Grantham library and they do not hold Morton by Bourne parish records BUT Stamford library does :) :) :) so the head librarian rang them up and Stamford(who are busy at the moment ie short staffed etc) will find the info and email a copy to Grantham who will send it to me.It could? be a couple of days but we will get a copy of original. So Silver12 if you can send me your email address via PM I will send them to you.

:) Thank you soooooooooooooo much xxx

Hi,
I have recd info from Stamford library via Grantham library and they have sent the parish record of Edward Heley & Frances Cox (Spinster?)16/March/1802 marriage. Edward left his mark & Frances signed.Witnesses Ding Cox Edward Frankish & Sarah Sandal?.
Stamford searched through the baptisms from 1801-1806 and there was no baptism for a William with Edward & Frances as parents :( :(.and no baptisms for children with the surname Healey/Heley :( :(They have sent me copies.
It was pointed out to me that there was a John baptised Jan 15th with parents Ding & Ann Cox which could be connected with the marriage. Also that William may not have been baptised until later or he could have been baptised in another village nearby.they listed.Haconby,Rippingale,Dunsby,Dyke,Dowsby,Kirkby Underwood.

No proof as yet but I suspect Frances Cox (1776- after 1751) was the half sister of Ding Cox (1766-1854).

Hi all thankyou for all your help, im wondering if Edward and Frances was Williams parents, Ive done research and cant find any proof. I think il leave it for now and come back later to it and move on to something else x
