Hi looking for any info on the rudd family of Egremont and the dixon family of distington. Seem to have hit a block at moment so if any one could help please do

Hi  my Grand mother isabell dixon was born in distington in 1906, but she was then adopted by another family. Her mother was 18 when she had her. Her mothers name was also isabell/isabella i think she was born in distington abt 1888. Thats all i know

Is Dixon your grandmother's adoptive name or her birth name?

Ten years later this couple have a daughter called Isabell Rudd, aged 4, born at Distington. There is no birth registration for a child with that name, at that time.

This link (http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/Census/household_record.asp?HOUSEHOLD_CODE=1881BR_5433096&HOUSEHOLD_SUB=1&frompage=99) shows his future wife, Mary Ellen Ashbridge, with her parents, in 1881 (I think). GF

thanks for the help everyone. Isabell rudd was my grandmother, Rudd was her adopted name. She then married my grandfather also named rudd ;D. I am going to try and go back further now with the dixon link so once again any help would be gratful

There is a tree on Ancestry that has Daniel Dixon's mother as Elizabeth Dixon and his grandmother as Jane Dixon.

I think this is the family in 1861
