If Thomas Stuart Hanna was married to Evalina Armstrong then it's hardly likely that his mother was named Evolina Armstrong :-\
Have a look at Introduction to Irish Records (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html) and My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start? (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,498742.0.html).

Hello
Thanks for the personal message I am sorry that I can't reply that way but I haven't yet made enough posts.
I am researching the Hanna family but don't think I can help . My Hannas are fom The Kilkeel area in County Down and I haven't managed to go any further back than William Hanna who died in 1877 and was married to Mary Ann Hamilton who died in 1878. They had 10 children and their son William and his wife Nancy McBride are my great grandparents. As far as I can tell they all farmed at Derryoge near Kilkeel. I do know that there were or are a lot of Hannas in that area. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Kilkeel, Co. Down is nowhere near Londonderry so not likely to be the same Hannas- it's a very common surname in Northern Ireland.

Welcome to Rootschat, Vicky :)
If your grandfather was born over 100 years ago you can search for birth registration here-

If born before 1911 census (taken 2 Apr.1911) then you can also search for him here-
