I am trying to find more information on the last two children of Robert Brown and Janet King their sons John who was born 16 March 1850 and James on 1 December 1856 both in Newbattle Midlothian . They were both alive on the 1861 census but I can't find them on any other I can find no deaths for them on SP either.
Thanks

Hi Suzilad
This looks like the family in 1871, with likely mother Janet's name mistranscribed (as are other bits too):
Robert Brown 46, coal miner
James Brown 45
Ellen Brown 17
Robert Brown 14
James Brown 12
Jane Brown 7
Beatrice Brown 4
Address: 23 Sandydean, Lasswade
James shows as born Dec. 1858 on IGI so fits with above age.
John likely living away from hom by 1871?
Monica :)

Possible entry for John in 1871:
John Brown 21, papermaker b. Newbattle
Jemima Brown 20 b. Pennywick, Edin
James Brown 3 months b. Lasswade, Edin
Starter for 10 on the address transcription: Not Lumen Whorn Hay Were On The Right Of The 2d J Street...in Lasswade at least!
