Hello,
I've been sat here for ages now trying to read my great great uncles medical war record, but I can only make out a few words which are "splinting" and "right" :-[ :-[
Will someone help me out please? :) :)

The second bit, though a couple words I'm not sure about:
Fracture metacarpals right
As above, impacted(?) base index and Bennets' fracture right
Splinting. Massage. Slight amylosis ankylosis of Metacarpal-phalangeal index
joint. Dicharged at own request though contrary to medical advise.
ride(?) "request" attached.

Excellent translation! Deciphered the last few words:
Splinting & C (Splinting and Casting)
As above, impacted (correct) base index and Bennets' fracture right splinting. Massage. Slight ankylosis of 5th (added) Metacarpal-phalangeal index oint. Dicharged at own request though contrary to medical advise.
ride (correct) "request" attached.

The last comment is 'vide (see) "request" attached'

The last comment is 'vide (see) "request" attached'
Ah yes, of course, Colin. I thought it would be quite difficult to ride the attached request. ::)

I think that would depend upon what the attached request said ;) ;D

Sounds like he might have either had something fall on his hand, or had a foosh (fall on outstretched hand) though that more usually results in fractured arm. Or he might have been in a fist fight.
Impacted base index (finger) means it has been pushed down and impacted on bones behind it
Bennett's fracture is fracture at base of thumb, not seen all that often to my recollection.

EDIT; first word of last line is vide = Latin for see, so see request attached, as I see Colin has already said.

Thank you all for your deciphering ;D ;D
Not quite sure how he got injured as he was absent most of the time and only spent about 3 weeks at war altogether... He even escaped from guards taking him to prison and from escorts :o
