Title: Madmen
Post by: Jaznjjj on Thursday 21 April 11 08:22 BST (UK)
Other people collect royal ancestors, or coats of arms, the collection I am putting together is a bit scary in that I have THREE ancestors (so far) who were insane.  This post is more a communication than an enquiry.  I'm guessing that there was more insanity back then (in these three instances, 150 years) than we usually hear about and that nowadays there is more intervention. One was suicide following possible workplace pressure (nothing new there!), one was killed as a justifiable homicide when apparently depressed and violent following the death of his wife, and one was insane most likely as the result of alcoholism. The 9/5ths of the population that think they are sane, are only as sane as the 5/9ths that think they are insane.
