James Ryan(1902), married Ellen Lyons(1910), looking for his mothers maiden name, His father was Thomas Ryan, they were farmers and lived in "Ryans Cottage", (which I believe still exists today), Balleycarney. Also looking for Thomas and Elizabeths parents. I have been working on this for such a long time now and the smallest piece of information would be appreciated
Mandy (nee Ryan)
PS James and Ellen went on to live in Newtownbarry after their marriage around 1930, their firstborn, Thomas Patrick Ryan was my father.

Thank you for your reply, I already have this information but wondered if those who wrote in the census information would have abbreviated Elizabeth to Eliza?

from family search a Thomas Ryan married a Lizzie Storey either late 1899 or early 1900. Registered Jan-March 1900. An Eliza Storey was born in Enniscorthy district 1878. fits in with age in 1901 census. Have you looked for birth cert for James Ryan (1902). That would give his mother's maiden name. Culbaire

Hi Culbaire, I know the info I have is correct, I didn't know that mothers maiden name would be on the birth certificate or I would have got one much sooner, thanks for your input......
