My ancestor Sarah Elsom was married 3 times. I have the information about the grooms and the dates and places. I would like it if someone could look up these marriages in the original records and perhaps find information about her parents. If I could even get the witnesses names it may give me a clue as to who her parents were.
1. Sarah Elsom married John Levens 17 Dec 1814 at St Luke Old Street,
Finsbury, London
2. Sarah Levens married David James 22 Aug 1821 at St Leonards Shoreditch
London
3. Sarah James married John Everitt 11 April 1827 at At Giles, Cripplegate,
London
I am sure this is my ancestor because her daughter's baptim record has her parents as John and Sarah Everitt and her name as Mary Ann Elsom Everitt.
Thanks, Claire

I have been looking around and found a Sarah Elsom born 1794 in Leyton, Essex. That would be the right time period for the first marriage in 1814. Parents are listed as Edward and Mary. The proximity of Leyton to the area of London that Sarah married in (all 3 times) makes me think that this is my Sarah's family. The fact that Edward and Mary also have a daughter recorded named Mary Ann (1785) is another clue. Sarah named her daughter, my ancestor, Mary Ann.
I have done a little search and not found a marriage for an Edward Elsom to a Mary in that area. I also looked for a birth for Edward there or close and found nothing. Would someone be willing to check for the marriage of Edward Elsom to Mary in Leyton or close by and find the date and place of the marriage, and her family name? Also, would you look for a birth for Edward Elsom in that area probably in the 1750's to 1765?
This forum is a great help for those of us who live "across the pond."
Thanks, Claire

Hi
Do you have any documentary evidence that Sarah was born in Essex rather than another county?
