Looking for marriage of Robert Ferguson b. c.1884 in Glasgow found on 1911 Census living in Glasgow with Wife and two children. Wife Jeanie b. c.1888 Edinburgh, children
Nellie 3 & Alexr. 1 both born Edinburgh so I am guessing the marriage would take place in Edinburgh about 1907/8. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Scottish birth certificates list date and place of parents' marriage which might prevent you from looking up marriages for the wrong Robert Fergusons.

aghadowey,
Thanks for your reply. Tried the birth for the Son Alexr. which I assumed was short for Alexander and came up with four matches, tried one which I thought would be right but struck out. Tried Nellie for the Daughter but came up empty. Can you give me a clue as what name Nellie might be? To be honest I am not sure if the marriage was in Edinburgh, it could have been Glasgow, I was just going on the birth place of both children and the namber of years married shown on the Census which was 4 yrs.

Nellie is often a nickname for Helen or Ellen or Eleanor.

Found birth of Ellen Smith Ferguson 1906 Feb. 26th at 7 Bayton Terrace, Leith.
Parents Robert Ferguson and Elizabeth Jane Cowan Ferguson MS Silva. Would appreciate a look-up on their marrriage 1 June 1900 South Leith to find out the name of parents for Robert Ferguson. Names I am looking for are William Davis Ferguson and Annie Jamieson Ferguson. Thank you.

You can find the marriage yourself on Scotland's People website (it's pay per view for everyone) now that you have their names, date, etc.

aghadowey,
Sorry, I misled on the Birth I found, It does not seem to be the correct Ellen Ferguson as the information shown on the 1911 Census has the Mother born about 1889 and marriage
date on the record I found was 18 June 1900 so I am really no further ahead. I will look further for the correct Birth and hopefully will have better luck this time around. Thanks for your interest and comments. I Apologiise for the confusion.

I was trying to find information on the Ferguson ship building family as I found a family album at a local car boot sale. I beleive it includes photos related to the Port-Glasgow Ship Builder Ferguson Brothers. Here is a link to the scanned photos.

If anybody has any information that is helpful or it turns out that Ellen Ferguson is one of the people photographed please contact me by flickr or leave a follow up comment here.

Hi Stowupland
Welcome to RootsChat :)
This post would probably fare better on the Renfrewshire board here on RootsChat given the connection with the Ferguson brothers. Would you like me to move it over to that board?

I would like to move it over onto the relevent board. However it also looks as if this thread might be related to the photographs.

You have posted a new thread on the Renfrewshire board now, so nothing to move over!
