Edward Noel Barraud 1857-21 Aug 1920 a NZ artist was in England between 1910 and 1913. I am trying to find out if he was accompanied by his wife Louisa Annette Barraud 1864-? and daughter Florence Vera Barraud 1888-?. E.N.B. is burried in Devon but wife and daughter do not show up in our(NZs) death or marriage records which despite the odd error are digitalised and free. So seeking anything on L.A.B. and F.V.B.

Hi,
There is a death for a Louisa A Barraud in 1947 in Brighton aged 83 (vol 5h 42).
Age ties in with date of birth.

Possible marriage for Florence.
Florence V A Barraud married Frank Rochfort in 1915 in Tiverton Devon (vol 5b 1123).

Here's the daughter's marriage ..
Marriages Dec 1915
Barraud Florence V A to Rochfort Tiverton 5b 1123
Rochfort Frank to 'Barrand' Tiverton 5b 1123
I would have thought with the years you quoted, that the family would show up in the 1911 census?

Could anyone tell me if Edward Noel Barraud was related to the Francis James Barraud who painted the dog on the HMV records?
-
yes they were cousins. Mutual grandparents William Francis Barraud and Sophia Hull. According to google.

Thanks. I needed to clarify the story that had been handed down!
Edward Noel Barraud built a home called 'Inverleith" at Paekakariki which my gt grandfather John Hall Newton, soap manufacturer, purchased or perhaps it was his daughter, some time in the 30's and where my grandparents John jnr retired to from Te Mata in the Waikato. The Newtons were Wellington people so he and his wife Queenie nee Letham were returning to their roots from their farming days.
The house is a lovely home with a large artists studio on the top which looks out to the ocean. This was where Noel Barraud painted and there was a story that he painted the dog, but on further examination it was his cousin Francis in England. Thank you for helping me to clarify that. Denis Glover, the poet, also lived in the studio for a time. When Queenie died the house was passed to her daughter Betty (Newton) Porter and she and her husband Jack Porter lived here until they died. AS children we loved going to stay with them as the 2 storied house fascinated us and besides we loved our Aunt Bet.

My connection is very remote. My Greatgreatgrandfathers sister Sophia Louisa Heywood daughter Louisa Annette McKellar married Edward Noel Barraud. In relooking at the family have found a sister (Florence Mary McKellar) to Louisa McKellar on geni and a death place and year for their daughter Florence Vera Anson Barraud who married Frank Rochfort. She returned to Brighton some time after her husbands death in Nelson on 8th Jan 1947 and passed on 5th march 1968 in Brighton
